Carolyn Luysterburg is currently a Team Lead for Deepwater New Basin Evaluation at Shell. She joined Shell in 2012 as an Exploration Geologist and has had the great opportunity to work across multiple basins and countries all over the globe, including projects in Well Delivery to Play Evaluation.  Carolyn enjoys the complex challenges of Deepwater Exploration to help solve the worlds energy demands.

Carolyn is a proud graduate of the University of Florida, earning her Bachelors in Geology in 2011 (Summa Cum Laude) and a Masters in Geology in 2012.  She worked multiple research projects with Dr. Jon Martin focused on hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry along central Florida spring-fed rivers.

As Co-Chair to the Advisory Board for the Geology Department, Carolyn is passionate about giving back to the department and ensuring the success of the department for future generations.  Carolyn is married to a fellow UF Grad, Ciro (College of Engineering 2011) and they have 3 wonderful boys.  Outside of work, Carolyn loves spending time with her family and introducing her boys to her interests: college football (Go Gators!) and soccer.
