George Foster
George was born and raised in Brooksville, Florida, where he grew up collecting rocks and snakes. Upon graduation from Hernando High School, speculating that he'd never make a living in the snake business, George studied geology at the University of South Florida. All along, he worked part-time for Florida Mining & Materials prospecting for cement raw materials. Upon his December graduation, George went to Wyoming to work in the oil business as a mudlogger, where he found frigid conditions not fit for humans. Six months later, the land still frozen solid, George fled back to Florida, not a little embarrassed by his poor show of pioneer spirit. That fall, he enrolled in the master’s program at the University of Florida under the tutelage of legendary industrial mineralogist, Dr. James Eades. After UF, George put in a 10-year stint at Environmental Science & Engineering, where he led contamination assessments at military installations and Superfund sites across the US and beyond. George founded Creative Environmental Solutions, Inc. in 1994, where he toils to this day. CES provides contamination assessment and remediation, prospecting and environmental permitting services across Florida.
