Steve Krupa

Steve Krupa has worked for the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) for more than 35 years; he currently is the Hydrogeology Section supervisor. Steve and his 6 staff members manage all the groundwater investigations for the 16 counties within the SFWMD boundaries, from Key West to Orlando.

Prior to working at the SFWMD, Steve worked offshore Texas for Amoco Production, and as a consultant with Dames & Moore in Boca Raton, Florida. While at Dames & Moore, Steve worked throughout the southeastern and eastern United States. Recently, Steve was an Instrument Engineer for an offshore seismic hazard survey in the Persian Gulf and for a multi-year offshore seismic research project in Biscayne Bay, Florida.

Steve has Bachelor’s degrees in Ocean Engineering and Geology as well as a Master’s degree in Geology from Florida Atlantic University. His Master’s thesis was “Recognition and Analysis of Secondary Depositional Crusts in the Surficial Aquifer System of the Southeast Florida”. Steve is a registered Professional Geologist in the State of Florida.
